55yo. Qld. Nicknamed "Superped". Former Brisbane Boys Brigade leader, gymnastics instructor and Sunday school teacher. November 2002 - pleaded guilty to 116 child sex offences, including unlawful carnal knowledge, recording indicent visual images and maintaining a sexual relationship with a child. Was caught when he took a video camera to a repair shop and a technician found footage of Dobbs having sex with a girl. Committed offence between 1972 and 1999. Suspected he has abused more than 300 girls but only 62 victims were identified when he faced court. Given an indefinite sentence, however is finishing an intensive sexual offenders reform course which could pave the way for his indefinite sentence ot be lifted. If the indefinite sentence is lifted and he is rated as "unlikely to offence at a future date" his sentence would revert to a life sentence allowing him to apply for parole after 15 years. First Qld prisoner to be declared a dangerous sex offender and kept in under a continuing detention order in 2003 and subsequently released in 2007. 1988 sentenced for 14 yrs jail for rape which was committed 20 days after being released for raping a 12 yr old and assaulting her 15 yo sister. 2009 - charged with rape which is alleged to have occurred on the Gold Coast 2008. 61 yo. Ryde, Sydney, NSW. His offending behaviour pre-dates his 1989 conviction and sentence of 14 yrs jail for kidnapping three children from their NSW home, driving them to Qld and sexually assaulting them for 3 days in a Brisbane Motel. When police entered the motel room Ferguson was covered in vaseline along with one of the child victims. Ferguson refused to admit any offence had been committed, still refuses to admit he committed any offences, refuses to undertake any form of rehabilitation. 2009 - acquitted of further sex offences against a young girl. 40 yo. Labelled by Qld Crt as an "out of control predator with no chance of rehabilitation". Used as an example to support the introduction of a blue card system to vet people wanting to coach junior sporting teams. 2009 was found guilty of maintaining a sexual relationship with a child and 2 rapes involving a young son. In different trial was found guilty of maintaining sexual relationship with a child, taking indecent photographs, procuring a sexual indecency by administering a drug and rape. Offences involved a boy and his sister. 1993 in Melbourne was jailed for 3 years for molesting two boys he coached in junior cricket. Servied 18 months and moved to Qld where he used his position as vice president of a juniro cricket club to moest the brother of on of the players - jailed for 4 years in 1999. Upon release raped 1 boy twice and drugged the other before assaulting him. Sentence in 2009 to 15 years in jail. Source - Courier Mail |
